Hello, friends! It's Spring! Of course that means unpredictable weather. It's funny that in Nevada, we get snow one day and then beautiful sunny 70F weather a day later. I'm not kidding.
Since the weather is still up and down, we started a fairy garden. I also started all the transplant-able seeds for the garden, but those are boring to look at when they're at this stage.

How are all of you? I have not posted here in months, but I'm enjoying popping to other's blogs or seeing what turns up on Pinterest. Not too long ago, someone in a forum mentioned that Michael's stores had a few miniature items, if you were lucky enough to find them.
I booked it to the closest Michael's a found this simple, naked cabinet. Hooray!

It's time to reveal another project. I kept this under wraps while I was working on it. It's another cross stitch quilt.
This one is shades of blue and tan. The variegated tan and light blue DMC floss makes it unique. I actually finished stitching it back in July just before Natalie was born, but didn't get a chance to show it until now.
I still have to wash JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-40329879603679982012015-10-30T17:42:00.000-07:002015-10-30T17:42:00.036-07:00Tea for Two updateHi Friends. You probably don't remember my little carriage clock room box from a zillion years ago. I think I've only shown it once on here and it was a work in progress. It's almost done!
Not bad for something I built when I was 20. I'm now 37.
AHEM. Anyway. Forget that detail about my age or how slow I can be when it comes to finishing projects. Many irons in JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-80505482167154357572015-10-25T17:29:00.000-07:002015-10-25T17:29:40.593-07:00Good Sam San Jose 2015
Hello friends, I'm back!
I was looking back at my last post and I'm sorry that's it's been such a huge gap from then to now. My newest "mini" was a huge investment and completely worth it. The baby came in August and she's in perfect health. I had plenty of Braxton-Hicks contractions to make me think she was going to be early. Instead she was a week late. Bear with me a moment while show JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-62788735465205227662015-04-20T19:47:00.000-07:002015-04-20T19:47:00.057-07:00Bricks!Hi Friends! I'm back with more detail. I'm even a little bit surprised at myself for getting so much done in the last two weeks. I know, my idea of "so much" is different from someone else, but busy moms have only tidbits of time for themselves.
To catch up, I applied paperclay to the entire front portion of the house in phases. I couldn't do the whole wall at once because I am too slow when I JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-232136003736799482015-04-17T17:24:00.000-07:002015-04-17T17:24:00.066-07:00So DeliciousHello again, friends.
I bought some more very yummy dollhouse food. It arrived a few days ago (OK, maybe a week ago) You've heard of Kim Saulter at some point, I'm sure. I have a few of her adorable sets. She has a Facebook page and an Etsy shop that I watch...like a hawk.
I just recently ordered this fantastic Easter themed baking set. I think the combo of cake, cupcake, and cookies did JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-48312922547870130262015-04-02T18:42:00.000-07:002015-04-02T18:42:01.239-07:00More paperclay progress Hi Friends!
Hooray for finding time to work on the house! I had a furlough day this week. I took care of the important things like taking Kid #1 to the dentist, taking myself to the OB/GYN for a baby check up, and a huge grocery shopping trip. Then I had some time in the afternoon to play with the modern house. I got busy with the paperclay some more.
I managed to shave down the JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-50845276503129906632015-03-13T11:30:00.000-07:002015-03-13T11:30:02.781-07:00Paperclay progressHi Friends!
I have been fairly busy lately. I managed to buy a pack of paperclay, but then it took me over a month to find time to do anything with it!
I used the clay on the modern house. After I carefully rolled, applied glue, carved little bricks and all that on the side wall, I was hopeful.
So I let the clay dry and looked at the result. I was very unhappy. It shrank a lot more than when JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-20259493224141162232015-01-28T12:30:00.000-08:002015-01-28T12:30:00.450-08:00Dolls are comingHi again my Friends!
I'm excited about something new. I have never really gotten into dolls for the dollhouses before. Ages ago, around 1997, I ordered a kit doll from Dana Burton of MiniatureArt. I was able to request the doll pre-painted and wigged, so that was great. Then never finished it. I sort of got hung up on what I wanted her to wear, so she's been incomplete and naked since.
BUT, JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-56276474249781498062015-01-20T18:28:00.000-08:002015-01-20T18:28:00.189-08:00Mini Mod Takes ShapeHi Friends!
I actually got something done on this house yesterday!!! The kids were wrapped up playing video games, so I took over the kitchen floor. The table is currently covered in Haley's Lego creations, and there would have been fits if I touched them. She's been on a kick remodeling her Lego Friends houses into one mega-house.
As for my new and improved modernized house, I made some greatJennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-12241054009268701652014-11-25T20:00:00.000-08:002014-11-25T20:00:02.776-08:00Taking a Modern TurnHi friends. Isn't it funny how ideas can morph and change? I was losing sight of the fish market and sushi bar. I couldn't really picture the finished product, so I was considering scrapping that idea.
Thanks to Pinterest, I was pinning all these sleek modern architectural houses. It finally struck me to just go modern. Drop the fish idea and do it.
I started sketching the basics of the JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-5312259653876793252014-09-17T21:52:00.000-07:002014-09-17T21:52:00.156-07:00Sunny Miniature QuiltHello friends! I have been very quiet lately, lots going on. The kids are back in school which means homework, field trips, and football practice. I started, and have already finished, a new cross stitch project. You know I have been on a quilt kick.
I was inspired by sunflowers. We grew some in the garden this year, so they were just outside the back door whenever we looked out. I decided to branch out and try something new. Since I'm a little bit good at cross-stitching (being modest here) I thought I'd try out making some patterns of my own.
I bought some software and I've been absolutely bonkers making up patterns. At this point I've made so many patterns, I will never ever have enough time to make them all. Ah, to dream happy little JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-62609343653903952922014-06-03T21:16:00.000-07:002014-06-03T21:16:00.300-07:00Orcara MiniaturesHello friends! I couldn't help it. I bought another Orcara set off eBay called Cooking with the Master. It took forever to get here from Hong Kong. It was so slow, I think someone swam across the ocean with it instead of putting it on a ship.
But it was here! I was super excited to open it. I didn't have a chance to open each little thing, just enough time before bed one night to make JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-72882047011335441552014-05-12T20:16:00.000-07:002014-05-12T20:16:00.417-07:00Another Change MidstreamHi Friends!
I think I must have a touch of Spring Fever. I've been excited to go outside, until I get too hot in the sun. Then I'm back inside staring at Haley's house. I've had another idea to change things up.
I've been thinking about the bathroom. Where I wanted it and how big it should be. I taped up the house so I could see how the rooms look with wallpaper. I had some wood JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-80705332392046598912014-04-26T12:43:00.000-07:002014-05-13T09:26:48.433-07:00Farmhouse Wallpaper Pt.2Hello again, my friends. I've been making more progress on wallpapering Haley's house. It's so nice to see something accomplished.
We decided that the kitchen and bathroom need extra windows on the side wall, so no wallpaper on those walls until the window holes have been cut. I did start papering the left side of the kitchen. I used some of the green stripe Itsy Bitsy paper. This was the paper JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-82965637853298103872014-04-01T19:48:00.001-07:002014-04-01T19:48:53.832-07:00Farmhouse Wallpaper Pt.1Hello again friends. I've been a busy mama so I have been extra slow at making progress on Haley's house. I managed to get the foundation set up. All the exterior walls were painted smooth. Then things came up and the house got moved to the other room (the room of exile?) so it was out of the way.
Dear hubby had a great idea to clean the garage and make a work table for the boy JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-35791534925650395932014-03-21T20:22:00.000-07:002014-03-21T20:22:01.036-07:00Cake and Tea for TwoHello friends! I have something new to share. I've been working on a shabby tea set. I was thinking of something fresh and summery.
I built and painted the furniture bright white and added the blue and yellow check fabric. I had to think about what else would be cute and tea party appropriate. So I added strawberry cupcakes, napkins, plates, and the cake JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-91138263960804137492014-03-03T18:16:00.000-08:002014-04-08T09:16:49.031-07:00More PB style bedHi friends!
I hate it when I get clumsy. Clumsy happens and it sucks. I was getting the Pottery Barn knock off bed out to give it a fresh coat of paint when I dropped it.
The headboard came off the rails. At least it was a clean break at the joint, so it was easy to fix. I got it re-glued and managed to give it some more paint yesterday.
This paint job is so much better! The weather here has been amazingly warm for February. I was expecting more cold, dark evenings which are perfect for staying warm by the fireplace making minis. Instead, we've had sunshine and weather in the 50-60s.
The boys have been in love with the new RC cars. Justin has made some ramps in the backyard and strategic rock piles for climbing with the cars.JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-38817885678552496912014-02-01T08:29:00.000-08:002014-02-01T08:29:00.875-08:00Little Red Cottage TouchesI haven't posted anything on the red Lafayette dollhouse in quite a long time. That's mainly because I haven't done much to this house in a long time. I figured I had to finish it before moving on to Haley's house instead of letting it continue to linger. Here are some details to the finishing touches. I'm not 100% finished, but I'm so close I couldn't wait to share these photos.

The family took a little trip over the MLK holiday weekend down to the Bay Area. We stayed with the hubby's brother and had tons of fun. We tracked down a few stores we had to go to, for Justin that meant RC hobby stores and for me, Shellie's Miniature Mania in San Carlos!
It's been years since I've been to a miniature store. The Reno store shut down JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-39608380420798684952014-01-23T18:00:00.000-08:002014-01-23T18:00:00.702-08:00Heart Quilt Sneak Peek
I started another little cross stitching project at the end of summer. Once I finished stitching the red dahlia quilt, I immediately started a new one. I found some very pretty heart fabric at the store so it was my inspiration for this quilt.
I already had a white wire bed frame and pink mattress for Haley's Farmhouse. That bed needed some covers on top. I made up this pattern. Hearts, JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4540264280844882210.post-61691655885349088702014-01-07T18:14:00.000-08:002014-01-07T18:14:00.525-08:00Farmhouse Foundation AssemblyAfter a very long hiatus from working on houses, I've picked up where I left off with Haley's dollhouse. That means, assembling the foundation and making some firm decisions on the interior.
First, I've decided to make some pretty significant changes. This was the step that had me hung up for so long. Do I follow the original plan or get creative? I showed Haley her choices and now I can JennyMooMeowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03058587093657332599noreply@blogger.com8
